"laced with grace"

 Thursday, August 5, 2021 (4:47 a.m.)

Holy God,

You continue working in, with, by, through and for us. Thank You. Praise You.

We noticed it yesterday. Annoyance led to irritation. Gentle joking quickly became hurt feelings. Snark immediately followed.

(5:38 a.m.)

Blessed God, thank You that even here I get to follow my thoughts into Your Word and again find Your Truth on every subject. Proverbs 16:24.

An online devotion speaks volumes to me. “Seasoned With Snark or Laced With Grace?” by Karen Ehman. Thank You for providing exactly what we need, Lord. Every time we ask. And often, even before!

Warm [read here as HOT!] weather played a huge role in the misunderstanding. “Just kidding” was another factor. Before one thing could even lead to another the die was cast. Each of us going our separate ways.

But YOU, didn’t leave us there! Thank You Lord.

Right in the midst of my irreverent name calling, You reminded me that I didn’t really mean any of them. As I continued building my case against this basically good guy, You continued countering with Your Truth.

Thank You Father for all You do on our behalves. Lacing our words with grace. Repentance. Forgiveness. YOU absolutely at work. All praise and glory to You!

“Kind [gracious, pleasant, well ordered, life-giving] words are like honey - they cheer you up and make you feel strong” (Contemporary English Version). That’s exactly what happened after the snark!

Each of us acknowledging our part in the fracas. And not taking a week to ten days to come to our senses!

Father, I sincerely ask You to continue Your work in refining us. Removing all the impurities that You can’t help but see. Lacing us with Your grace that we will freely share it with others.

You are so great. Glorious. Good. And gracious. We want to be all You designed us to be. Praise You for who You are. Thank You for all You do. I love You. Use us. Amen.
