connections

 Friday, August 6, 2021 (5:40 a.m.)

Father God,

Thank You for the connections You provide us. Connections with You. And others. Speak to me this morning concerning the connections You would have us pursue.

Our connection with Christ. His with us. Colossians 2:19.

J.B. Phillips New Testament. Verses 18-23. “It is the spiritual, not the material, attitude which matters…”

Holy God, thank You for the ready access we have to Your Word. Thank You that You have so much to say about how we are to live each day. What we are to think. How we are to treat You, others and ourselves.

You have always known what is best for Your people. The apostle Paul wrote this letter to the people of Colosse, “to show us that Christ is the only real source of power in our life” (The Life Recovery Bible THE BOTTOM LINE PURPOSE).

Thank You that You allow us to choose to believe Your promises. To follow Your lead. It is our connection with You that is paramount over all others.

Looking to You. Trusting You to have Your very best for each of us can stop us in our tracks when we start down a path You wouldn’t have us take. This is where I ask You to continue teaching us Lord.

The one true connection that we are desperate to have is summed up here in the KEY VERSES (9-10) for this book. “For in Christ the fullness of God lives in a human body, and you are complete through your union with Christ. He is the Lord over every ruler and authority in the universe.”

Continue Your great, glorious, good and gracious works in each of us Dearest Lord that we will truly come to love You, others and ourselves (Mark 12:30-31) exactly as You would have us. With all of our hearts, souls, minds and strength.

We need You. We want You. We trust You. We thank You. We ask all that You have for us. In Jesus’ most precious and holy name. Amen.
