on the other hand

Thursday, July 16, 2020 (5:39 a.m.)

Thank You Father,

Thank You that You know Your best for each and every single one of us. Not only do You know it, You provide for it.

We, on the other hand, don’t always readily accept that best. We want things “our” way. As we designed. Wished. Hoped. Even plotted.

Thank You that You will not be swayed. You wait for us to come to our senses. Knowing exactly how that’s going to look. When we can accept Your plan willingly. And with open arms.

Does it all come together when we finally surrender all to You? Or is that just our very first baby step?

Once again, the husband and I are dropping our guards. Rather than standing firm against the other, we are coming closer together. With the mutual desire to be a better partner.

Respectful communication is paramount. Hurtful snarkiness doesn’t reflect love nor admiration. Continue Your work in both of us Lord. Removing all the roots of bitter, cruel, hate-filled attitudes.

We both want to do better Lord. To BE better!

Thank You for all the smiles this morning Father. And the peacefulness that comes only from You. Your Truth. Your promises.

There is a renewed sense of balance. Your natural rhythm is replacing all of our jolting and jarring starts and stops. Thank You Lord. Truly. You are our perfect “reset” button. We spiral. Get lost. Turn to You in humble obedience and You right our footing. Praise You God.

You blessed me with another song this morning. Every smile reminds me of how freely and easily we can allow You to take over when we are willing to relinquish control. To You.

Is this me singing to You? You singing to me? Or even Your quarreling children to one another? ♪Dance with me, I want to be your partner Can’t you see The music is just starting Night is calling, and I am falling Dance with me♪

Can it ever really be that easy? The peace that washes over me when I give in to the beat of the music. That we could truly feel free by the willing hopefulness we have in You?

♪Pick the beat up, and kick your feet up Dance with me Let it lift you off the ground Starry eyes and love is all around♪ Mm, yes Father! Take us where we want to go. With You.

Led by Your Holy Spirit. Into Your Word. That we would truly live our day according to Your direction. Your rhythm. Your beat.

As stated in The Message (1 John 2:7-8) the apostle John wrote, “My dear friends, I’m not writing anything new here. This ["love one another"] is the oldest commandment in the book, and you’ve known it from day one. It’s always been implicit in the Message you’ve heard. On the other hand, perhaps it is new, freshly minted as it is in both Christ and you - the darkness on its way out and the True Light already blazing!”

Yes Lord. Please Father. It is Your blazing True Light that we desperately need to keep us out of that deep, dark, dank pit of despair.

Your love. Your grace. Your mercy. Your forgiving Spirit living in, with, by, through and for us. Granting us the privilege of truly and freely forgiving one another from the hurts and mistakes of our life together.

In You and Your precious love we are truly freed to love and forgive without fear of further pain and misgivings. Continue working in and teaching us to communicate as You would have us. Lovingly. Respectfully. Fully submitting our will to Yours.

Thank You Father. Praise You. We love You.

Continue doing all You must. As You alone know is best. We are Yours. And You are ours. In Jesus’ most holy name we pray. Asking. Seeking. Knocking (Matthew 7:7). Amen.
