everything

Wednesday, March 11, 2020 (5:30 a.m.)
Holy God,

Thank You that we get to come to You for everything. With everything. Happy. Sad. Concerns. Delights. You are God of all. Thank You.

Thank You for the peace You provide. The guidance. The goodness. Mm, yes. Your goodness Lord.

Turning to Your Word and reading a section listed as A Doxology of Praise (Romans 11:33-36) I find such peaceful encouragement. A subtle, understated joy. And such a smile!

Blessed Lord, how I thank You for being our God. Our Creator. Our Father. Our hope. Our joy. Our everything. Yes. There’s that word again.

“Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are His riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His methods!” (Romans 11:33 New Living Translation).

Reading The Life Recovery Bible comment for 11:33-36 I wonder if what I am experiencing here is worship?

“After sketching out the broad contours of God’s plans for us, Paul could only worship God’s majesty. God’s plan, wisdom, knowledge, and ways are so far beyond ours that we have only one option: to humbly give Him the praise He deserves!” Yes Lord! That is the option I choose!

“For those of us who recognize how limited and helpless we are, the fact that God’s power and wisdom are great can be an encouragement, since He loves us and wants to help us.”

Thank You Lord for the opportunity to choose to turn to You. Trusting You. Instinctively. Regularly. Often.

The Message shares this section of Scripture by asking and affirming, “Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It’s way over our heads. We’ll never figure it out. Is there anyone around who can explain God? Anyone smart enough to tell Him what to do? Anyone who has done Him such a huge favor that God has to ask His advice? Everything comes from Him; Everything happens through Him; Everything ends up in Him. Always glory! Always praise! Yes. Yes. Yes.”

Father, there are huge things going on in the world these days. Health scares and risks that are impacting community and social interactions. You created community. You alone know Your plans for all mankind. I turn to You. Trusting You to do all You know is best. In everything.

All our hopes. Fears. Doubts. Desires. Wonders. Wants. Needs. You know Your plans. They are for good. Not for evil. To give us a future. And a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). The Voice adds, “never forget that.”

We trust You Father. We need You. In every single thing we need You.

Standing on Your Word here Lord, I pray it right back to You. The Message. Jeremiah 29:12-14. “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”

That’s Your Decree Lord. We get to come to You with everything! Hurts. Hopes. Horrors. Hosannas. And Hallelujahs! Everything. Thank You Father.

Use us this day. Exactly as You know is best. To Your glory and the good of others.

We love You. We need You. We ask You. And we thank You. Yes Lord. How we thank You. Amen.
