FAITH

 Monday, November 13, 2023 (6:25 a.m.)

Blessed God,

Thank You for Your artwork in the sky this morning. Color. Dynamics. Dimensions. Gorgeous. Thank You.

Mm, yes. Thank You God!

Thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your Truth. Your promises. Your guidance. And direction.

Oh! And the choices You provide us.

You allow us to choose to believe, trust and follow You. We can find beauty in the simplest of things. Or not.

This morning I’m reading about faith (Hebrews 11:3). And this time together with you just got all the better.

A 12 Step devotional in The Life Recovery Bible titled Hope in Faith. Referencing Step 2. Here I get to be reminded of the overall importance of coming “to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.”

Thank You for being that power Dear Lord. And for the smile that’s gracing my face.

“Step Two is often referred to as ‘the hope step.’” How great are You that I’m learning something new. Again.

Because of Your love for each and every single one of us, we get to have Your hope in all we encounter through any given day. Verse one starts us off.

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Thank You Father.

Thank You for the Truth and principles of Your Word. Here to guide us in living each day as You would have us.

Verse 3. “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”

That’s how we felt as we watched the clouds in the sky change color and intensity this morning. Growing more beautiful with each passing moment.

Back to reading about the Truth of Your Word.

“How can we be confident that something we want is going to happen, especially if all our hopes have been dashed? How can we risk believing that the life we hope is waiting for us around the bend?”

Yes Father! How?

Thank You that the very next paragraph provides the answer.

“The Bible tells us the key is in the nature of the Higher Power we look to.” Amen! A detailed description follows the quoting of verse 6.

“If we see God as one who is reaching out to help us, we will be more eager to look to Him. If our faith has not matured to that point yet, we can ask for help.”

Here a reference to Mark 9:22-24 describes a dad seeking help for his young son. When Jesus tells him, “‘Anything is possible if a person believes.’ The father instantly cried out, ‘I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!’”

Father I started out praising You for the sunrise and here You provide me so much more. Because of the obedience and raising of Your Son, the sky isn’t even our limit. Our hope goes so much beyond what we can see.

“We can start by asking God to help us have more faith. Then we can ask Him for the courage to hope for a better future.”

Yes please Lord. All our hope truly is in You. Do all You must in, with, by, through and for us that we would live our time here as You would have us. Faithfully trusting, believing in and acting on Your teachings.

Use me as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. I love, need, trust and want You. Amen.
