good and glorious God

 Tuesday, January 5, 2021 (6:40 a.m.)

Holy, Holy God,

How I thank You for being the good and glorious God You are.

Yes! Good and glorious!! Thank You God. Praise You Father. You help us. In so many ways. With and without our knowledge. Just now for instance...

I consider You as good and glorious and You provide me six sections of Scripture. Oh that count was only in The Message! Other translations tell me so much more Dearest God.

Thank You Father. Praise You Lord. So many verses. Where would You have my focus?

Solomon knew of his need for You (1 Kings 3:9). Jeremiah (14:19-22) questioned You and prayed for healing. The apostle Paul wrote to the Romans (8:18-21) of Your future glory. As well as Your mercy on the Gentiles (Romans 9:20-33).

We are blessed to know and be known by You. To love and be loved by You. We get to read Your Word. Your Truth. Your promises. And be lifted out of the muck and the mire we so often find ourselves in.

Titus 2:11-14 promotes right teaching about the Gospel of Your grace. And 1 Peter 5:8-11 urges us to be alert as we trust You to teach us “how to live well in a shattered and hopeless world” (The Life Recovery Bible THE BOTTOM LINE PURPOSE).

I look to You most dear and blessed God. Asking. Seeking. Knocking (Matthew 7:7). Trusting. Hoping. Loving (1 Corinthians 13:13). Leaning into and depending on You to make us the people You would have us be. The ones who glorify and enjoy You forever.

Teach us Lord. Empower and enable us to love as You would have us love. You, with all of our hearts and souls and minds and strength (Mark 12:30). And others as much as ourselves (31).

Do in, with, by, through and for us all that You alone know is necessary to Your good and to Your glory.

I love You Lord. I need, want, trust and depend on You. Alone. “Come Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20b). Amen.
