"Thy will be done"

 Thursday, December 14, 2023 (3:32 a.m.)

♪Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee♪

Yes! Early in the morning. And very late last night.

Thank You God. It took several hours for me yesterday to finally come to a place of full surrender. After eleven last night, I heard my internal voice singing ♪Thy Will Be Done♪ (Matthew 6:10).

Mm. Yes, Father. Let me remember. This IS my plea. Thy will. Not mine.

Singing first the Hillary Scott version (circa 2016). Then finding one by Barney Elliot Warren. Written almost a hundred years earlier.

Again I am thanking and praising You God. It is Your will

(4:48 a.m.)

Mm, yes! Align me with Your will Dear Lord.

(5:20 a.m.)

Turning pages in The Celebration Hymnal I find myself smiling. Excited. Eager to tell [agog]. Yes Father. You ♪work in ways we cannot see [You] will make a way for me♪

It’s been quite awhile since my heart has sung out in such rapid-fire succession. One song leading right into the next.

(6:47 a.m.)

Following ♪I’ll Live For Him♪ over to ♪Joy Unspeakable♪ I turn to 1Peter1:8 and smile. Hopefully. Trustingly.

“You love Him even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.”

Thank You Father for Your Truth. Thank You for the hope and joy and peace that we find written in Your Word.

Early in His ministry, Jesus taught us to pray saying “Thy will be done” (Matthew 6:10b). Before His arrest, He modeled it for us (26:42). “Do it Your way” (The Message).

Continuing to quote from The Message, “Do what’s best” (Matthew 6:10). “‘I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.’ GOD’s Decree. ‘For as the sky soars high above the earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think.’” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Yes Father. Do what’s best. Your way. ♪Thy Will Be Done♪ Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
