peace of heart

 Tuesday, December 12, 2023 (4:39 a.m.)

Blessed God,

I’m here with prayers for another. Something is lost. And You are our “Go-To.” Thank You that You are.

Praying for Your peace took us immediately to Philippians 4:7. Father, thank You that we have Your Word in which to turn. On which to stand. Firmly (Ephesians 6:11). In all things. At all times.

Oh how blessed we are Dear Lord to be able to come before You. With our hurts. Our hopes. Our losses. Depending on You to set things straight.

Thank You that You know Your plans for us. Plans for good and not for evil. Plans to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). “In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me” (vs.12-13).

Father God, how I ask (Matthew 7:7) You to again put our asking, seeking and knocking back on Your will for us. “‘I will be found by you,’ says the LORD. ‘I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land’” (Jeremiah 29:14).

Yes Lord. We want to look for You. Meditating on Your glorious splendor (Psalm 145:5). Proclaiming Your greatness (v. 6). Sharing the story of Your wonderful goodness (7).

Mm, it’s when we remember to put You ahead of what we think we want or need that Your peace truly fills our hearts. Thank You Father.

Thank You that You truly are our ♪Good, Good Father♪ It IS who You are! And we are so grateful.

Thank You that we can come to You when our hearts are breaking. Knowing, trusting and believing that You are always “gracious, merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness” (Psalm 145:8).

Items are missing. Hearts unsettled. Feelings of guilt emerge. We come to You seeking Your will. Your way. Your goodness. Your glory. Your peace.

Yes Lord. Your ♪peace that passes understanding down in our hearts♪ Your peace that turns our hearts to songs of joy. Rejoicing.

♪Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master, Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves; When our weeping’s over, He will bid us welcome, We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves♪ (Psalm 126:6).

We come before You asking, seeking, knocking that which is lost. All the while depending on You to shelter and protect us. Truly finding rest in Your shadow. Covered by Your feathers. Sheltered with Your wings. Armored and protected in Your faithful promises (Psalm 91:1-4). Much like chicks under their mother hen in a storm.

Father, You know all that is lost. Be glorified in the finding. We love, need, trust and want You Blessed Lord. Use us. And this. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
