delving deeper with God

 Thursday September 15, 2022 (6:59 a.m.)

Tahoe Vista, CA

Hi God,

(7:47 a.m.)

Good sleep. Upsetting dream. One waking word. Proximal.

I confess. I don’t know this word. Nor am I sure it’s something You’d have me delving into.

Mm… now there’s a word! Delve. I definitely want to delve deeper with You Lord. Guide and direct me please I pray.

(8:07 a.m.)

Thank You Lord! Taking the time to turn toward rather than away from You once again my heart and thoughts are Yours. Directed to reading Psalm 51 and Matthew 6:21 I am again reminded of the importance of asking (Matthew 7:7) You to remove the stain of my sins (Psalm 51:1b) and the guilt (v. 2) that accompanies them.

Father, I confess to the thoughts that run rampant in my head. Luring me to believe the lies that satan places before each of us (1 Peter 5:8). Thank You Lord that right here I get to be reminded of the importance of the Truth in verses 7 and 9.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to You” (7). Thank You that You do Dear God.

“Take a firm stand against him [satan], and be strong in Your faith” (9a). Lord God, it’s You I need to right my thinking. You are truly my treasure (Matthew 6:21). I want to serve and represent You well. Do all You must to Your good and to Your glory.

I ask (Matthew 7:7) You to lead and guide me to Your right thinking. Looking here, searching there and I’m directed to James 4:2-3. Drawing Close to God. Once more I am profoundly blessed!

Five verses up (James 3:13-18) True Wisdom Comes from God and I have to say it out loud [in print] to You. I need Your power of forgiveness. Toward myself. The lists of mistakes I’ve made are seemingly looped to play endlessly in my mind.

Father, I love You. I need You. I trust You. I want You. Do all You must that I will forgive myself and get on with wholeheartedly thanking and praising You for Who and all You are.

You are good. Great. Glorious. And gracious. Work in, with, by, through and for me as only You are able. Yes Lord. You are able!

Right here I take an enormous liberty! Praying Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Empowering (Ephesians 3:14-21) for myself. Yes Lord! I want to be ‘driven by Your dynamic and unlimited love’ (The Life Recovery Bible comment). “… deeply anchored and rooted in the soil of God’s love… becom[ing] confident that He is able to do far more in and through us than we could ever imagine!”

It is absolutely You that I need and want living in me that I will truly live in You (John 15:4). It’s only in, with, by, through and for You that I will learn to love You, others and myself (Mark 12:30-31). With all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

Do all You must Dear Lord. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
