without incident

Tuesday, December 21, 2021 (5:13 a.m.)

Blessed God,

Thank You. We’re home. Safe and sound. Without incident.

(5:39 a.m.)

Your Word guides me. Even here.

“Without incident.” The Message. Matthew 7:24-25. Jesus speaking. And teaching.

“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit - but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.”

You fixed us to You, our Rock, nearly thirty years ago. Thank You God. Praise You Jesus. Your teachings. Guiding us to lean into and depend on You. We are eternally grateful Lord.

The Passion Translation footnote for flood directs us to Song of Songs 8:7. Here I get to read of committed love. And am again reminded of the tremendous work You have done in and for our relationship. Thank You Father.

Yes, Dad. Thanks for the guidance and direction You have given us through the years.

This morning I ask You to continue Your work in each of us. Empowering and enabling us to hear, trust, and obey Your teachings.

I love You Lord. Thank You for all You provide. Use us as You alone know is best. Amen.
