purposed

Thursday, September 20, 2012 (7:11 a.m.)
Hi God,
Looks like I'm gonna be learning something new again. A different program on the computer today. A modified headstand yesterday. Wow Father! Intentional learning. Deliberate. Purposeful. Goals. All here for the taking. Thank You.
Thank You that Your Word offers much in the teaching department. I don't know what it is that You have for me most this morning. I've gone from this verse to that seeking the “Aha! This is it.” I've yet to know for sure what You have purposed for me.
Using a quote [found in the movie Hook] from our kids' childhood upon finding an answer. “There you are Peter!” Isaiah 14. Promises of Mercy.
There is talk here of the mercy You will one day have on Your “special ones” (v.1). A “wonderful day when the Lord gives His people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains” (3). There are descriptions of when “at last the whole earth is at rest and is quiet!” (7) and of Lucifer's fall from heaven (12). Much is said to give Your people hope.
Verse 27 is where the 'Aha! set in this morning. “For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart Him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn back?”
A footnote tells how foolish it is to ignore You and Your moral laws, still hoping life will go well anyway. It adds that it is not too late to turn to You and start living for You now. Another makes clear that it was pride that was at the root of Babylon's problem with her king. It tells of the importance of healthy self-esteem and warns of the sin of pride.
“Sometimes our pride is an unhealthy attempt to cover up deep insecurities that can be dealt with only by the love and grace of God”!
Yes! “There You are Peter!” Work in me this day Dearest God and Father, exactly as You have purposed. I love You so much and long to be who it is You created me to be. Thank You for Your love. Your forgiveness. Your will. Your way. Your goodness. Your grace. Your mercy Your purpose. Amen.
