HOPE

Holy God,

What would You have of us today?

Micah 6:8. From The Message. “But He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what GOD is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously - take God seriously.”

Oh, and look at this Father. Micah. “THE BOTTOM LINE PURPOSE: To warn God’s people of the destructive consequences of disobedience and to offer peace to those willing to obey God’s revealed will” (The Life Recovery Bible).

Most Dear and Blessed God, this country needs You!

Reading in Illustrated Bible Handbook I learn more about “MICAH Visions of Judgment and Restoration Micah the Man. Like Amos, Micah is a man deeply concerned with justice. He is sensitive to the fact that Judah and Israel have wandered from the good ways marked out in the law. And he is convinced that only a spiritual renewal, a return to God by individuals and by society, can save his nation.”

Holy God, the more I read the more I remember. Months ago, at the start of the COVID crisis I took courage in the teaching that all things have a beginning, a middle and an end. In this current time of civil unrest, I hold tightly to Your Truth. Your promises. This too has had its beginning. It will have its middle. And it will had its end.

To what end Father? Will we come out of this stronger? More united? You know Your plan. Your best. Do in us Lord all that is necessary.

Chapter 7, verses 1-13 of Micah is entitled Misery Turned to Hope. Verse 14 begins The Lord’s Compassion on Israel. How I pray Your compassion most dear and blessed God.

“O LORD, come and rule Your people; lead Your flock in green pastures. Help them live in peace and prosperity” (14a). Do all You must Dearest Dad. Make us into Your obedient people.

To wit “All the nations of the world will stand amazed at what the LORD will do for you. They will be embarrassed that their power is so insignificant. They will stand in silent awe, deaf to everything around them. They will come to realize what lowly creatures they really are. Like snakes crawling from their holes, they will come to meet the LORD our God. They will fear Him greatly, trembling in terror at His presence” (16-17).

Yes Father! Yes! Do all You must that we would truly “do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God” (6:8). Do it Lord! Do all You must.

We love You. We need You. And we ask You. Father, do in, with, by, through and for us ALL that we can not possible do ourselves. Stop the madness Lord. I love You. Amen.
