Word and worship

 Sunday, February 11, 2024 (6:43 a.m.)

Blessed Lord,

I’ve already made many mistakes. I’m asking (Matthew 7:7) that You will work Your own personal magic [mercy and grace in Christ] in, with, by, through and for me.

(7:00 a.m.)

Almost no sooner had I asked then You answered. Searching about You and magic, I find an article by Wm. Paul Young. “Why Do We Treat God Like He’s Magic?”

Dearest God, how I thank You. You help me ask and receive. Seek and find. Keep on knocking and have the door opened.

Rather than focus on misses, You turn my thoughts to You. And all You have provided us. Thank You Lord.

We are reminded that we have Your Word and worship. Every single time we are faced with uncertainty, feel powerless or desperate for control, we can come to You. Your Word. And worship.

In this damaged and broken world, You know our need for relationship. With You, others and ourselves.

By turning to Your Word [Jesus] and worshiping [completely trusting Your character and nature as revealed in Him] we are freed (John 8:32). We don’t have to replay our mistakes. We are forgiven. To forgive others. And ourselves.

Quoting the article, “We are not defined by our circumstances nor our lack of power to control it, our identity is in our relationship with Jesus and the character of the God who loves us.”

Yes! Your pure, true “magic” at it’s best. Thank You Father. Praise You Lord. Use us this day exactly as You know is best. Loving, needing, trusting and wanting You all the way. Amen.
