in me

Tuesday, August 15, 2023 (6:10 a.m.)

Blessed, Holy God,

(6:40 a.m.)

Time spent reading Your Word. Wondering. Wanting. Delighting. And then? Rain of all things! Big, giant, completely unexpected raindrops. Thank You Father.

Isn’t that descriptive of You at times? Big. Giant. Completely unexpected. Thank You for the twists my mind takes. This way. That. Around a corner. And back to You.

Coming to You with the notion of having Your Spirit in me, I searched Your Word. Using notion just now, I’m off looking for [and finding] a different song.

Don’t Rock the Boat baby Don’t tip the boat over…♪ Thank You God for the many times You allow Involuntary Musical Imagery (INMI) to speak sing Your Truth to me.

Jesus’ disciples experienced fearful times in boats on the water with Him. And here? Another song!

Put Your Hand in the Hand of the Man who stilled the water… the Man who calmed the sea Take a look at yourself and you can look at others differently By puttin’ your hand in the hand of the Man from Galilee♪

Holy God, this is absolutely not the direction I had thought we’d go this morning. Thank You for taking charge.

How perfectly it all ties back to the Scripture verses I was perusing earlier. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him’ (Isaiah 64:4). But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For His Spirit searches everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.”

Illustrated Bible Handbook refers to this section (vs. 6-10) as “Access to Divine Wisdom.” How I thank You for the Truth to which Your Spirit leads me. “Human beings have no way to deduce or discover God’s thinking. But His very thoughts have been communicated to us in words of Scripture by the Spirit.”

Thank You so much Dear Lord for having promised and left us with such a gift as Your Spirit (John 14:15-27). In each of us. Leading us into all Truth (v.17a). Providing us “peace of mind and heart” (27a) that we will be troubled or afraid (27c).

Use us this day Dearest God. Sharing Your love, peace and Truth with those we come across. Thank You for Your Spirit. Which brings with it singing. Smiles. The ability to stand firmly, staying our minds on Your Word.

Thank You for Your love. We need, trust and want it to lead, guide, direct and empower us to living as You know is best. Praise You Lord. Amen.
