"gotta keep it real simple"

 Saturday, August 5, 2023 (6:12 a.m.)

Blessed God,

Thank You! First came the tune. Immediately followed by some words. I even knew it was Danny Gokey singing. All this before the sun had begun to shine on us.

♪… ground zero… Love God and Love People … Gotta keep it real simple…♪

Mm. Yes. Let’s keep it real simple today Lord.

Knowing where to look. Both in Your Word (Mark 12:30-31) and the internet. Here I sit. Reflecting on each.

Lord, I want so much to love You with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength (v. 30). And my neighbor as myself (31). Not as the world teaches us. No. As You would have us.

Here’s a smile! Brought on by believing that You really do know what’s best. Thank You God. A song and a smile. Words on which to stand and stay our minds upon. You provide our every need.

♪… But I’ve been complicating things It’s just like me to overthink Gotta keep it real simple, keep it real simple Bring everything right back to ground zero ‘Cause it all comes down to this Love God and love people♪

Yes Lord! I want so much to love as You would have. Freely. Unreservedly.

♪We’re living in a world that keeps breakin’ But if we wanna find the way to change it It all comes down to this Love God and love people Oh, this is freedom The keys to the kingdom Knowing life will be found when love can be loud ‘Cause love is what it’s all about♪

Yes, yes Dearest God. Teach me to use the words that bring life. That build up and not destroy.

♪No more complicating things No more need to overthink Gotta keep it real simple… Love is patient, love is kind Rescues hearts and changes lives Love is all we need to make things right… Keep on loving… It’s all about love It’s how we change the world Love God and love people♪

Teach me to love as You would have me love Dear Lord (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Whole-heartedly. Simply. Forgiving. Not keeping score (v. 5b). Blessing, rather than cursing (1 Peter 3:9).

Live in, with, by, through and for me this day [which You have made (Psalm 118:24a)]. Rejoicing. Being glad (24b). And kind (1 Corinthians 13:4a).

I love, need, trust and want You Lord. Use me as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
