with a grateful heart

Blessed Holy God,

Happy Sunday from Nashville, TN. Thank You for getting us safely here, without incident. We were able to pack and be ready to go with no surprises. Thank You God. Yes, thank You.

Father, I truly love thanking You. With a grateful heart. And right there starts a song from over twenty-five years ago. A cassette playing in the car while I drove down the freeway. On the way to visit my dad in the care facility we had fought so hard to keep him out of.

Wow! Talk about an instant memory. Thank You for this as well Blessed God.

Driving in the fast lane. Anticipating a never ending road to recovery. Singing, alone in the car, at the top of my lungs. ♪Give Thanks [title of the cassette] with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ His Son♪

Oh Dearest God, how we truly do give You thanks. We’ve made mistakes. Way more than our share. And here we are, still giving You thanks. With grateful hearts. Thank You, Dad.

Thank You for the lessons learned. Thank You for the challenges. Thank You for the growth. And the struggles. Thank You for the healing. And the memories.

Today, as we prepare to drive from one place we’ve never been before to another, I ask You to bless us and keep us. Make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. Lift up Your countenance [face] upon us and give us Your peace (Numbers 6:24-26).

Father, we love You. And we truly thank You. Continue preparing us for all You have to offer. Thank You. We love You. Amen.
