Holy God,

Thank You again. Still. Always.

Thank You for time to consider other songs [and my own prayers] than that with which I awoke singing.

I’ve taken many distractive turns already this morning. Bring my thoughts and intentions back to You Lord.

Straight away I went to reading about meekness (Matthew 5:5). Never to be confused with weakness.

It’s strength under control. A heart surrendered to Your will. Great inner strength, humility and restraint. Submitting our power, rights and desires to You. Trusting You to work for our good.

Continuing, I learn we are to ‘embrace humility. Recognizing our dependence is to be on You. And accepting that we don’t need to assert our will or defend our pride.’

Father, thank You for reminding us often [everyday] to “respond to challenges, criticism or offense gracefully rather than with anger or aggression.” Meekness, like many of Your other attributes, is a conscious choice.

It requires patience. Waiting on Your timing. Trusting Your plan. Especially difficult when we tire and don’t agree with the need to wait and trust.

Thank You that we get to come before You. Everyday. Just as we are. And You will give us rest (Matthew 11:28).

Mm. Take on Your yoke. Let You teach us (v. 29). With an easy to bear yoke for a burden that is light (30). Make me a better learner Lord. Everyday.

I love, need, trust and want You. Use me as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
