♪Even If…♪
(4:51 a.m.)
I was so sure God. I woke up singing. And now I don’t know for certain that this was the song.
Interesting how wrong my thinking can be. Thank You that You never are.
(5:07 a.m.)
David sang of Your way being perfect (2 Samuel 22:31a). All of Your promises proving true (31b). “He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection” (31c).
(5:26 a.m.)
Right now is when I finally say, “Wow!” And “Thank You God!”
Reading in 2 Samuel, about King David and the problems in his family. Mistakes were definitely made. As were sinful acts. Father, thank You that You forgive us our sins.
(5:40 a.m.)
Still reading I become even more aware of the importance of true forgiveness. Without it bitterness takes root and satan gains another foothold (Ephesians 4:25-27).
Blessed Father, this morning I ask (Matthew 7:7a) You to continue Your work in me. As I search Your Word and seek to do Your will I am made more aware of my own limitations.
I want very much to “lead a life worthy” of my calling (Ephesians 4:1). Always being humble and gentle. Patient with one another, making allowance for our faults (v. 2).
It’s Your love for us and ours for You that allows us to “Make every effort to keep [y]ourselves united in the Spirit” (3a). Bound together with peace (3b).
Lord I love You. I still don’t know for sure what song I’m singing. What I do know is that You are good. Gracious. Glorious. Great (Psalm 145:5-8). You deserve all the praise and glory.
Use me as You know is best. I love, need, trust and want You to have Your way. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life” (Psalm 139:23-24).
Yes. Please. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
