That’s as far as I got before the searching began.
Regret. Concerns. Lyrics. Updates.
February 7, 2025 (8:18 a.m.)
Beginning again…
Good morning Lord,
Thank You for the opportunity to CHOOSE. Life (Deuteronomy 30:19). Yes!
You put it out there before us. Your call that we would love, listen and cling only to You (v. 20). The Passion Translation tells us to “love, obey, be loyal” to You. I want very much to do exactly that.
At this very moment I want to pause long enough to thank You for the finding of a wallet that had gone missing days ago. A relatively simple matter in the grand scheme of all things. Yet I allowed it to take up so very much space in my brain. Thank You for Your faithfulness. And attention to every detail!
Thank You that You aren’t done with us (Philippians 1:6). It’s in You we get to live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
The more time I spend with You, the more time I WANT to spend with You. Thank You that this cold, rainy, unplanned by me day allows me exactly that.
(9:10 a.m.)
Father, I confess the ease with which I become overwhelmed with regret and concerns. That is NOT Your best for me.
Thank You that we have Your Word of Truth and promises to teach us to do this life differently than the traps satan has set for us. The apostle Paul taught the Philippian believers by writing “Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what You need, and thank Him for all He has done” (Philippians 4:6). That found wallet comes immediately to mind again.
There’s one particular song that keeps trying to sing of regret to me. For now I’m going to work at letting it go
