"a far better way"

Thursday, October 13, 2011 (6:26 a.m.)

(6:47 a.m.)

Blessed Lord,

Starting out blessing, thanking and asking You probably would have been a far better way. A far better way! To heck with the song I’ve been humming for more than an hour and can’t figure out what it is, YOU are “a far better way”!

(7:09 a.m.)

So here I’ve been for twenty more minutes reading in Hebrews about the priesthood of Melchizedek. Lord, I confess. There’s more here that I don’t understand than that which I do. Help me Lord.

(8:06 a.m.)

Yes Lord. Help me. Help me be an encourager. A good steward. An ambassador for You. Faithful. Persistent. Yours.

There’s so much to learn and to apply. I still haven’t found the song I continue humming, but You’ve given me something better this morning. Truth!

Hebrews 7:20-22 (CEV) “God Himself made a promise when this priest (Jesus) was appointed. But He did not make a promise like this when other priests were appointed. The promise He made is, ‘I, the Lord, promise that You will be a priest forever! And I will never change my mind!’ This means that Jesus guarantees us a better agreement with God.” Or as Eugene Peterson put it, “This makes Jesus the guarantee of a far better way between us and God – one that really works! A new covenant.”

Thank You Lord. I may continue looking for things that I might never find, but You will ALWAYS be “a far better way”! Thank You. I love You. Amen.
