fewer words

 Friday, June 13, 2025 (4:50 a.m.)

Awesome, Holy God,

Thank You that there are so many ways to address You. Thank You for all the words we have at out disposal. Thank You even for the ways I so easily misinterpret their meanings.

It came to my attention again yesterday. With the word forward. It seems simple enough. Like so many things, my comprehension was wrong.

Thank You Father that I don’t have to berate myself. I get to bring to You all my faults and foibles. And You in turn will provide me the strength of Your mighty power (Ephesians 6:10).

(5:22 a.m.)

You blessed me repeatedly yesterday Lord. Delightful times out in the yard. Complete with prop planes, tiny yellow birds and a bright red attentive dragonfly.

I make mistakes. I misread people and situations. I’m bringing them all to You. Asking (Matthew 7:7a) that You would continue teaching me to “not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think” (Romans 12:2a).

‘Then I will know Your will for me, which is good and pleasing and perfect’ (v. 2b). Like You! Good and pleasing and perfect.

Let my words be few (Ecclesiastes 5:2c). I want to learn to keep my eyes open and my mouth shut (5:1a). In Your presence and in the company of others.

Father God, I love, need, trust and want You. Do all You must in using me exactly as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
