Blessed God,
Thank You! There was sleep. Much, easy, sound, good, dream-filled sleep. Never before did I imagine how grateful I could/would/should be for good sleep.
Mm, yes Lord. I am truly grateful.
Looking back through years of postings I find this is not the first nor only time I’ve thanked You for the gift of good sleep. It clearly is NOT overrated!
Intentionally taking yesterday as a day of rest, I wonder if my choices regarding time usage had anything to do with the quality of my sleep. Thank You God for the peace I am experiencing at this very moment.
Thank You that even David wrote of his own encounters with good sleep. Psalm 3:5 and 4:8 speak of him lying down and sleeping in the safety of Your presence,
The Life Recovery Bible comments for both of these verses speak of the peace David experienced as he focused his thoughts fully on You. “True joy comes from God - a joy that is greater than all the gladness the world can produce. Nothing will bring us more peaceful nights of sleep than the knowledge that God is with us and helping us to progress in recovery.”
Mm. This gives me a whole new appreciation for a well known Christmas song. ♪Silent Night, Holy night All is calm All is bright… Sleep in heavenly peace♪ Yes please. Father, I would very much appreciate more nights of sleeping in Your heavenly peace.
Continue teaching me to use well the days You have provided me. Yes Lord. You know Your best for us (Isaiah 46:10; Jeremiah 29:11). I want to follow the path You have set for me.
How perfect that You would have me identify the song with which I went to sleep last night. I had only snippets then.
♪… To anyone who ever lost your way To everyone who ever felt ashamed Here’s a song for all the broken hearted I believe you’re only Getting Started To anyone who trusts in Jesus’ name Watch your world become forever changed Here’s a song about light from darkness I believe you’re only getting started…♪
I believe You Father. Watching You teach me to ‘know the treasure that I really am, to understand the measure of the Father’s heart’ allows me to sing unabashedly. ♪He loves you, He loves you, He loves you
♪Fall in His arms and let Him wash you clean He’ll tear off the chains so that you can be free A new life begins and the old is redeemed Oh, I believe…♪
Mm. Yes Blessed Father. I believe! You love me. You love me. You love me.
Let me use that love exactly as Jesus commanded (Mark 12:30-31). You. Others. Myself. Wholeheartedly. With all my soul, mind and strength.
Do all You must to Your good and perfect end. Thank You. Praise You.
Here I’m asking (Matthew 7:7) well in advance… another night of good sleep would be GREATLY appreciated. ♪I love You. I love You. I love You...♪ Amen.
