mighty hand

 Tuesday, October 15, 2024 (4:30 a.m.)

Thank You, Father.

Another day of waking up singing. And smiling. Standing firmly on Your Word of Truth and promises. All while staying my mind on You.

Thank You. Yes, thank You  Lord.

♪I know You’re able and I know You can Save through the fire with Your mighty hand But Even If You don’t My hope is You alone♪

(5:38 a.m.)

The phrase repeats even more intently as I try falling back to sleep. Thank You Father.

Singing on to the next line ♪They say it only takes a little faith to move a mountain… But God, when You choose To leave mountains unmovable Oh give me strength to be able to sing It is well with my soul♪

Yes Father. It IS well with my soul! Thank You.

Yesterday I was blessed to begin learning the difference between spirit and soul. Here I ask You to teach me more.

Hebrews 4:12 was referenced throughout the message I heard. Soul given the description of our humanity. What makes us human. With all of our thoughts, emotions and will. Spirit on the other hand connects us to You. And Your mighty hand!

In Mary’s song, she expresses her soul magnifying You (Luke 1:46). As her spirit rejoices in God her Savior (47).

I am particularly drawn to The Message version this morning. For its descriptive hope and vitality.

“And Mary said, I’m bursting with God-news; I’m dancing the song of my Savior God. God took one good look at me, and look what happened - I’m the most fortunate woman on earth! What God has done for me will never be forgotten, the God whose very name is holy, set apart from all others. His mercy flows in wave after wave on those who are in awe before Him. He bared His arm [connected to Your mighty hand!] And showed His strength, scattered the bluffing braggarts. He knocked tyrants off their high horses, pulled victims out of the mud. The starving poor sat down to a banquet; the callous rich were left out in the cold. He embraced His chosen child, Israel; He remembered and piled on the mercies, piled them high. It’s exactly what He promised, beginning with Abraham and right up to now” (vs. 46-55).

Blessed Father. I ask (Matthew 7:7) to live my life with this kind of faith. Trust. Hope. Joy. Do all You must that I truly rejoice and be glad with You today.

I love, need, trust and want You as absolute Lord of my life. Use me as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
