Blessed Holy God,
Good very early morning. Thank You for sleep. And rest. And a yesterday of doing very little that was productive.
(5:33 a.m.)
Father, thank You for allowing me time to collective myself. To experiment. Make mistakes. And come back to You with a more honest heart.
I confess to holding You at arm’s length. Almost pushing You away at every turn.
Thank You that even with that very simplistic confession, I find myself smiling. Internally as well as externally.
Father God, I love You. Thank You that I can confess feeling degrees of indifference and casualness with You and be forgiven for my unwillingness to come readily before You with them.
You know my heart. My soul. My mind. My strength. Far better than I. Forgive me for trying to hide any of my thoughts and feelings from You.
The truth is… I’m unsure how or what I feel. From any given moment to the next. Right now? Grateful! Yes. Sincere, true gratitude.
We get to repent and be reconciled. Redeemed. Refreshed. Renewed. Restored. Revitalized. Thank You Lord.
(6:25 a.m.)
Lord. Thank You that in being willing to confess my heart to You, I come to read of others with similar experiences. Thank You that in the internet readings I am directed straight into Your Word.
Here I get to be reminded of Your Truth and promises. Thank You Father. Praise You Lord.
I am asking (Matthew 7:7) You to continue teaching me to ‘guard my heart, for it affects everything I do’ (Proverbs 4:23). I want to ‘draw close to You, and You will draw close to me’ (James 4:8a).
(8:07 a.m.)
Do all You must Dearest Lord, that I will live this day [which You have made (Psalm 118:24)] truly rejoicing and being glad in it (24b). I love, need, trust and want You.
Use me as only You know is best. Coming to You (Matthew 11:28). Taking Your yoke (29a). And finding rest for my soul (29b).
You are good. Great. Glorious. Gracious (Psalm 145:5-8). Thank You that You are also forgiving. Loving. And kind.
Praise You for who You are. Thank You for all You do. Work Your will in, with, by, through and for me.
Psalm 139:23-24
John 15:4-5
Amen!
