Two months to the day, uncontrolled wildfires and packing for an annual trip have all led to tears. Thank You God for the LOVE those tears represent. Love for You, others and ourselves.

Father, You are so very good. Gracious. Glorious. Great (Psalm 145:5-8). And generous. Yes Father. Thank You that You are such a genuinely generous God!

Thank You that You not only call us repeatedly to love one another, You provide instruction and ability to succeed. Thank You for Your Word of Truth and promises. Teaching us what is of You. And what is not.

Lead, guide and direct me to loving as You would have me love. You. Others. Myself. Completely. Heart. Soul. Mind. And strength (Mark 12:30-31).

According to The Passion Translation, “Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

Blessed, Holy Father God, I want to learn to love like that. Do all You must. Thank You. Praise You. I love, need, trust and want You. Amen.

Holy God,

Thank You for Your goodness. Your grace. Your glorious greatness (Psalm 145:5-8).

Reading these verses in The Passion Translation took me to reading the whole chapter. With a deeper understanding. Thank You God. Truly You bless me in the most unexpected ways.

Lord, I look in Your Word. Reading more. Wanting to fully absorb it into my very being.

The Message uses different phrasing to present this section of Scripture. “But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard - things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.”

Yes please Father. With these plans and action I am to make and take I absolutely need Your leading in marshaling and directing my energies wisely.

I want to live confidently in, with, by, through and for You. Being unafraid, strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9). Having Your power and strength made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
