intentional words and actions

 Sunday, June 7, 2026 (5:40 a.m.)

Blessed God,

Thank You so much. You are good. Faithful.

(7:23 a.m.)

Thank You for this time to worship and to wander. To pray and ponder. Father, You truly ARE good. And I am genuinely grateful.

Singing songs that come to mind, I hold You in my heart with each line.

Who Am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name?

Would care to feel my hurt?♪

♪… There’s only You and me

And We Just Disagree

God Is On the Move, on the move

Hallelujah

God is on the move

In many mighty ways♪

♪Are you hurting and broken within?

Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin?

Jesus is calling…

O Come to the Altar

The Father’s arms are open wide♪

Being able to read of Your faithfulness makes me duly aware of how blessed we are to be loved by You. And how casual I have become in my own lack of faithfulness in putting the Truth of Your Word into practice.

Having spent decades depending on the hope we find in Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:21-23) it took until this morning for me to read the full chapter. Forgive me for my shortsightedness Dear Lord.

I confess to wanting easy. Happy. Joyful. Thank You for reminding me that “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love” (Romans 5:3-5).

Faithful, Loving Father, I want to use this hope and Your love well. Remembering that troubles can be an opportunity for great joy (James 1:2). Trusting that when our faith is tested, our endurance has a chance to grow (v. 3). And when it is fully developed, we will be perfect and complete, needing nothing (4).

It is our hope in Your faithfulness that allows us to “be truly glad” (1 Peter 1:6a). Expecting, trusting, believing “There is wonderful joy ahead,” (6b). Do all You must dear Lord that I will “endure many trials for a little while” (6c).

Trials show faith to be genuine (7a). Tested as fire purifies gold (7b). Continue strengthening me I ask (Matthew 7:7) You Dear Lord. Reminding me to be strong in You and in Your mighty power (Ephesians 6:10).

I love, need, trust and want You Dear Lord. Be my Source of hope. Filling me completely with Your joy and peace because I trust in You. Overflow me “with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

Make it so my words and actions intentionally line up with all You know to be best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
