Blessed and grateful

 Friday, December 13, 2024 (5:40 a.m.)

Blessed Father God,

THANK YOU! Not only do I know I am blessed, I just woke up smiling. Feeling grateful. Not because I’m supposed to. Or should. Because I AM! Blessed and grateful.

Thank You that You are good. Gracious. Great. Glorious (Psalm 145:5-8). And that ♪Your Love Never Fails

Even [especially?] when I make mistakes! Like when I think that’s the song I’m singing at the moment. When in actuality it’s a verse from ♪One Thing Remains♪ Let’s look at the Truth of both, shall we?

I literally have the lyrics stacked side by side here. Thank You for this opportunity.

… Higher than the mountains that I face / Nothing can separate

Stronger than the power of the grave / Even if I run away

Constant through the trial and the change / Your love never fails

One thing remains, yes, one thing remains

Your love never fails It never gives up It never runs out on me…

Lord how I thank You for music that sings Your Truth while soothing my soul. Trusting that “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! [a Syriac version in Hebrew reads ...of the LORD keeps us from destruction.] His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Usually I stop the quote there. This morning I continue. “I say to myself, ‘the LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!’” (V. 24). I DO Dear Lord!

My Life Is In You, Lord My strength is in You, Lord My hope is in You, Lord In You, it’s in You♪

I have decisions to make Dear Lord. I want to be well informed. Unafraid. Confident. In YOU!

“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind” (Psalm 1:1-4).

“But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

I want desperately to be like the trees planted by the water. Letting my roots grow down into Jesus, that my life be built on Him. That my faith will grow strong in the Truth I’ve been taught, and I will overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:7).

It’s YOUR power that is at work in me. Filling me with joy and thanksgiving. I need, trust and want You to continue nourishing and growing me.

I love You Father. I ask (Matthew 7:7) You to direct, guide and lead me to those You would have me trust and do business. I love You. Use me as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
