Holy God,
I’m looking to You for the JOY which I seem to have misplaced. Yes Father. JOY!
Strength for today and hope for tomorrow
Nehemiah 8:10 Joy Lord strength
(6:08 a.m.)
Father, I LOVE when I bring my searches to You. There is so much TRUTH to be found. Thank You.
“A devotion on choosing joy” posted by “BUCKNER Hope shines here” speaks Your Truth deep into my soul. It cites Your joy as “the gladness of heart [which] comes from knowing God, abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit.” YES!
The posting goes on to encourage knowing You “in every aspect, in our decision making, actions, behaviors and communicat[ing] with Him daily, He is the foundation of our life. Nothing happens without Him.”
Moving my seating to better see the vibrant colors taking place in the sky right now, I am further reminded of the importance of being firmly rooted in You. Your Word. Your Truth. Your promises.
“We must be like a tree planted by living waters. Strength, life and growth of the tree is tied to the water; therefore, it remains focused toward the water. We, too, must maintain the joy of the Lord and remain focused toward our source, even when trials and tribulations come.”
Jesus is referenced as the joy who came into the world. Without Him we were all castaways. “We needed the joy of the Lord in the world. Joy came to restore us back to the Father and all of Jesus’s attributes came to us and are made available.”
Just when I thought this was enough, here’s the very next line. “If we are in Him and He is in us and we are allowing His attributes to become our attributes, then the joy of the Lord is our strength today.” Oh yes! Yes, please!
“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:10-11).
Yes. Yes!
Thank You God for having Henry Jackson share these thoughts. May I use them in sharing Your loving, strengthening joy with others. I love, need, trust and want You. Do all You must in molding, making and using me exactly as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
