Blessed, Holy God,
Thank You! I woke up this morning… thinking. Not singing. Thinking. Remembering having learned the importance of making sure our words are:
True
Helpful
Inspiring
Necessary
Kind
Father, how I thank You for the Truth of Your Word. It truly puts me in the best brain space.
(6:01 a.m.)
There is so very much to be learned. And applied. Not only thinking before I speak, but pausing before I think!
Yes Lord. Learning to pause my thoughts will ultimately allow You to reset my brain. Just like Your Word tells us in the apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippian believers.
Here from The Message. “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst, the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into His excellent harmonies” (Philippians 4:8-9).
I like the sound of that! I want to be part of Your excellent harmony.
Teach me to pause. Allowing You to reset and fix my “thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think[ing] about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” (New Living Translation).
These are the things I want taking up my limited brain space! Teach me to T.H.I.N.K. as You would have me. I love, need, trust and want You. Use me as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
