one piece at a time

 Thursday, January 23, 2025 (5:14 a.m.)

Good morning Blessed God,

Thank You for extra sleep. And a remembered dream. These are quite rare for me.

Thank You the opportunity of piecing it together. A single detail here. Another there. One piece at a time. Much like the jigsaw puzzle I worked on last night.

The much loved husband was there in the dream. In an unfamiliar restaurant setting. It wasn’t until waking that I became aware of what I chose to miss.

Delighted at seeing him, I headed in his direction. As he walked out the door instead of coming toward me I immediately retreated.

Father, thank You for this gentle reminder of the choices You provide us. I could have seized the moment and gone out after him. Instead I sat back down. Determined to wait him out. Make him come to me.

I’m sitting here smiling with You. Aware of and grateful for Your presence. Thank You for Your gentleness with me.

(5:46 a.m.)

Wow! Would You just look at this…

Searching “God’s gentle approach” I came to James 3:17. How I thank You Father.

Reading back to verse 13 is the subheading True Wisdom Comes rom God. I want to be wise and understand Your ways. Live honorably. Humbly do good works. Not be bitterly jealous with selfish ambition in my heart.

Thank You that “the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness” (vs. 17-18).

The Message phrases it this way: “Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.”

Yes please! I want to live in, with, by, through and for You and Your wisdom Dear Lord. Making choices that glorify and praise You. Getting along with and treating others with dignity and honor.

I love, need, trust and want You. Use me exactly as You know is best. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
