Blessed God,
There is music in my head this morning. I’m just not sure from where. At first I thought it was Colors of the Wind. I laughed while thinking how appropriate, given our weather forecast.
Although the lyrics are poignant, they are not those I was searching [“When I’m lost ___ You will find me”]. Time After Time holds a similar phrase.
(4:17 a.m.)
Rather than continuing the search for the song, let me just turn to You instead. Knowing, trusting, believing the Truth of Your Word.
(5:32 a.m.)
Mm, yes. The Truth of Your Word!
Father, thank You. You remind us repeatedly of the difference we have in You. The world would have us think one way. Chase after other things than what You know are best for us.
Thank You for changing my tune. Remembering the two I’d handwritten down yesterday [Worship Through It and Peace Be Still] I started humming ♪I wanna be DIFFERENT I wanna be changed ’Til all of me is gone And all that remains Is a fire so bright The whole world can see That there’s something different So come and be different in me♪
Lord God, thank You for helping me choose to value my differentness. For so long I wanted to be different than I am. Working hard to make myself more alike and the same as others.
Learning to “Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex” (Psalm 139:14a) allows me to smile. Even laugh with delight over how “fearfully and wonderfully/remarkably and wondrously” I am made.
You did this Lord! “Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well” (v. 14b). Thank You for all You’ve done, are doing and will continue to do in, with, by, through and for me. I love You so much.
(6:26 a.m.)
Reading through the various versions of this verse, I find myself excited and eager to tell [agog!] this from The Voice. “I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.”
Yep! Whenever I’m lost… You WILL find me! Of that I have no doubt. There is nowhere I can go away from Your Spirit (vs. 7-12). Thank You for Your presence. Your plan. Your goodness. Your grace.
Continue Your work in perfecting my differences. ♪I wanna be different… So come and be different In me♪ Thank You. Praise You. I love You. Use me. Amen.
