Comfort. And joy.

 Monday, November 4, 2024 (3:48 a.m.)

Holy God,

Thank You. Yes. Thank You for sleep. And songs. And warmth. And hope. Thank You for comfort. And joy.

Interesting choice of words. Comfort. And joy. Show me more I ask. Yes Lord. Comfort. And joy.

(4:21 a.m.)

Thank You Lord. You never cease to amaze me. I ask (Matthew 7:7). And you answer.

Directed to Romans 15:13. And Hebrews 6:19. My heart swells. My face smiles. Thank You Father.

You are amazing. ♪You stay the same through the ages Your love never changes There may be pain in the night But joy comes in the morning [Psalm 30:5] And when the oceans rage I don’t have to be afraid Because I know that You love me Your Love Never Fails

Now THAT’s the kind of comfort and joy I am talking about! Your love. Never failing!

Back over to Hebrews. You promised to bring Abraham a son (Genesis 22:17). Impatience set in during the wait. Mistakes were made.

“Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised” (Hebrews 6:15). Because it is impossible for You to lie (v. 18b) “we who have fled to Him for refuge can take courage, for we can hold on to His promise with confidence” (18c).

Father, thank You! I came here tired. Not yet ready. And You again took me where You know I need to be. More deeply into Your Word. Where we find true comfort and joy.

Romans 15:13. “So I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him. May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Yes, please.

♪Your way is better… I will Make Room for You To do whatever You want to… Shake up the ground of all my tradition Break down the walls of all my religion Your way is better Oh, Your way is better♪

Yes. Your way IS better!

Thank You that we have Your Truth, Your Word, Your Holy Spirit leading and pointing us the way to surrender. Laying down ♪every burden, every crown… every lie and every doubt♪ Allowing us to truly make room for the comfort and joy You already have prepared for us.

It’s on both Your promise and Your oath we are able to hold (Hebrews 6:18a). Knowing, trusting, believing in Your inability to lie (18b). Providing us the courage and the confidence that “is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls” leading us through the curtain of heaven into Your inner sanctuary (v. 19).

True comfort. True joy. Thank and praise You Dear Lord!

Use me exactly as You know is best. Doing all You must that I would love as You would have me. You. Others. Myself. Wholeheartedly. Mindfully. Soulfully. And with all of my strength (Mark 12:30-31). Amen.
