Holy God,
THANK YOU! I am making one mistake right after another this morning. And still I’m thanking You.
Yes. You allowed me three extra hours of second sleep. Thank You!
Waking after journaling out my junk thoughts, the word TRUST kept coming to mind. TRUST over fear. TRUST instead of doubt. TRUST when I cry out, “Help me Jesus.”
Oh! And trust is right there when I remember to say, “I trust You Jesus.” Trust. Yes! Quite simply, TRUST
(6:46 a.m.)
Father, I am here asking (Matthew 7:7a) You to teach me what You would have me know about TRUSTing You with all my heart. That’s right! I was singing that just earlier.
♪Trust in the Lord
With all Your heart
Lean not on your own understanding
In all Your ways acknowledge Him
And He will direct your path♪
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
I’m liking the way The Message puts it. “Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the One who will keep you on track.”
The chapter continues telling us to not assume we know it all. To run to You. Away from evil. To honor You with everything we own. Giving You the first and the best (vs. 7-9).
I confess to not doing that Lord. Teach me how You would have me honor You.
(7:11 a.m.)
The apostle Peter wrote to the Jewish Christians of his day who were suffering persecution for their faith. Thank You that we have Your Word, both written and in the form of Your Son.
Thank You for reminding us that “You love Him [Jesus] even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him, you trust Him; and even now you are happy with a glorious, inexpressible joy” (1 Peter 1:8).
Yes please. Sign me up for Your Master class in trusting! I still need a lot of practice.
I love You Lord. I need. TRUST! And want You. Use me as You know is best. Teaching me to You trust even more. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
