Holy God,
More sleep, please? I keep thinking. So very much thinking. Calm my thoughts I ask (Matthew 7:7) You, please.
(7:21 a.m.)
Rest. Calmer thoughts. Seeking genuine joy now.
Changing viewing locations. The lake. And mountains. Clouds. Sunlight peeking through on distant hills. Gorgeous, Lord. Thank You.
Yes. Thank You.
I am confessing fear to You right now. Fear of the unknown. Fear of the what ifs… I’d much rather fear [fully esteem and revere] You. Thank You for this opportunity.
(7:41 a.m.)
Father, thank You that You call me to think about [fix my thoughts on] “what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” (Philippians 4:8).
You would have me “Keep putting into practice all… [the teachings we’ve learned from the apostle Paul] and the God of peace will be with me“ (v. 9). I definitely want Your peace dearest Lord.
I want very much for You to continue teaching what You know I need to know about being hospitable. Do all You must that I will become: welcoming, friendly, kind, generous, warm, accommodating…
This is all such brand new territory for me Lord. Your Word, via Paul’s writing, encourages us to stay true to You (v. 1). To settle disagreements because we belong to you (2). To help one another (3).
Father I want to live Paul’s words and “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again - rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember the Lord is coming soon.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (vs. 4-7).
It is YOUR peace I seek Dearest Lord. Far more than any disturbance or distraction that comes along.
We have You to glorify and enJOY while simply honoring a much loved one. I’m asking You (Matthew 7:7) to provide my every single need in this.
‘Your gracious favor IS all I need. Your power works best in my weakness!' (2 Corinthians 12:9).
(8:46 a.m.)
There are so very many personalities and levels of energy to factor in. Each with our own hurt. Loss. Need. And point of understanding.
You being the good, glorious, great, gracious God (Psalm 145:5-8) that You are, I look to You for healing and help. Thank You for who You are and all You do.
I love, need, trust and want You. Be glorified. Thank You. Amen.
