Holy, Blessed God,
Oh how I thank You Lord. There was a lot of uninterrupted sleep last night. That practically never happens. And remembered dreams to boot.
Here’s a phrase I didn’t expect to find in Your Word. “To boot.” As well. In addition. Besides.

Holy, Holy God,
How I thank You for the various ways You get our attention. Like right this moment when Don Moen’s ♪God Will Make A Way♪ began singing Your Truth to me.
♪He works in ways we cannot see He will make a way for me He will be my guide Hold me closely to His side With love and strength for each new day He will make a way♪
There are so many times I think I know so much. And then? I discover there is so very much more to learn. Like how to tap instead of click on the computer’s trackpad. And how to edit a no longer applicable start up page.
Lord God, thank You. Thank You for teaching us to treat one another with the love and respect You command of us.
You teach us that words have power. We need to use them wisely and well.
Father God, our nation is gearing up for civil unrest of grand proportion. I turn in The Life Recovery Bible and read Micah’s warning to Your people in Israel’s northern and southern kingdoms.
They were living “self-centered lives driven by greed and false pride… spent their nights plotting against the helpless and their days taking advantage of the weak.” We haven’t come too far have we Lord?
The Life Recovery Bible comment for Micah 6:4-5 tells us, “The people of Israel had become smug and self-sufficient, forgetting that they were helpless without God’s power.” This seems very familiar Father. Why don’t we learn?
In speaking of Himself Jesus told His listeners, “Then the Son of Man appeared-He didn’t fast, as John had, but ate with sinners and drank wine. And the people said, ‘This man is a glutton! He’s a drunk! And He hangs around with tax collectors and sinners, to boot.’ Well, Wisdom will be vindicated by her actions-not by your opinions” (Matthew 11:19 The Voice).
Oh, most Dear and Blessed God, Your Son’s own people didn’t recognize Him when He came to save them. What chance do we have? How desperately I ask You to intervene on our behalves. We are truly lost sheep, in absolute need of our Good Shepherd.
“Come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20b). ‘The grace of the Lord Jesus be with us all.’ We love You. We need You. Amen!
