Holy God,
I’ve been asking You for much of the night to give this husband a win. Yes Lord. He is working so hard at resolving a plumbing problem.
The most amazing part of it all? His demeanor! You’ve done this in him Lord. We know it’s You.
Until recently, patience had never been his virtue. Throughout these many days of dripping water he has remained calm. Willing to ask for help. He has been peaceful. And persistent. Qualities that never used to describe him or his attitudinal behavior.
For all of these reasons Lord, I am asking You to give him this win.
In the current scheme of things, it doesn’t seem such a big ask. But for his confidence. The opportunity to hear him proclaim, “I did it!” Oh Lord, truly I ask in Jesus’ name let him have this win.
There are so many larger problems in the world. Desperately sick people. Serious financial woes. And I’m seeking a plumbing win for this man who has become such a kinder person because of Your presence in his every day life.
Holy God, how I thank You for all You have done in changing us into the people You created us to be. Continue Your refining work in us most Holy God.
Searching the root word plumb, I come to Psalm 33:4-5. The Message says, “For God’s Word is solid to the core; everything He makes is sound inside and out. He loves it when everything fits, when His world is in plumb-line true. Earth is drenched in God’s affectionate satisfaction.”
So the immediate disappointing truth is “it still leaks.” Darn! We continue looking to You Oh God.
Right there starts the Chris Tomlin song, ♪Our God is greater, our God is stronger God, You are higher than any other Our God is Healer, awesome in power Our God! Our God!♪
Thank You that You are trustworthy Dearest Lord. Big smile! Look at New Living Translation. “For the Word of the LORD holds true, and everything He does is worthy of our trust.” Thank You God.
Oh, here’s The Life Recovery Bible comment for 33:1-11. “Such a powerful God is worthy of our trust and praise. The God who spoke the universe into existence is able to re-create us, and is filled with tender love for us. He can heal us of the defects that have brought such destruction to us and the people we love. All He asks is that we turn our life over to Him so He can work these changes in us.”
And there’s this from Illustrated Bible Handbook. “This public call to praise God (1-5) reminds us of the many benefits of a close relationship with the Lord (6-22).”
Most dear and blessed Holy Father God, we didn’t get this win. And You are still good. Ever working Your best on our behalf.
The plumber has to come after all. Maybe the win in all of this is us getting to see the re-creating You’ve been doing in the heart of this really, truly good man. Thank You God.
I love You [and him!] dearly. Thank You for all You have and do for us. Use us exactly as You know is best this day. We are Yours. Thank You. Amen.
