Blessed, Holy God,
Thank You! The thoughts I have been thinking already this morning are filled with excitement. Thank You for such a wonderful way to wake up. Eager. Alive with hope. Filled with excitement.
Mm, yes Father. Filled with excitement. Agog. With You.
This past week one thing has quite naturally just opened itself to another. No fretting. Or stewing. Just a true sense of “anticipating with an alternative”. Thank You Father.
Thank You that it is safe for me to get my hopes up. Provided that my hopes are in You.
Oh look! Your Word speaks to this as well. Isaiah 49:23c (Amplified Bible), “And you shall know [with an understanding based on personal experience] that I am the LORD; For they shall not be put to shame who wait and hope expectantly for Me.”
Thank You Father. Thank You for the work You do in each of us. Teaching what it is to wait and hope expectantly for You.
It’s the tiny little glimmers and glimpses of life in You that bless me and keep me each day. So easily we can get caught up in the here and now. The day to day drudgery of hopelessness.
And then, once in awhile, just like these past few days, circumstances all fall into place and blessings abound. Thank You Father. Thank You for the honor and the privilege of learning to wait on You.
Again this morning ♪Trust in the Lord With all your heart And lean not on your own understanding In all your ways acknowledge Him And He will direct Your path♪ (Proverbs 3:5-6) is singing to me. Repeatedly. Thank You Father.
Thank You for the love behind all I have experienced this past week. Other people reaching out to celebrate me. Phone calls. Written notes. Greeting cards. Messages reminding me that I am loved.
That is the message, the hope of my heart that I long to share with others Lord. That we are each supremely loved by You.
Continue Your work in me Father. By, through, for and with me. It’s Your love that grounds us to hoping and trusting in You. With all our hearts.
Disappointments come and go. But You are here with us forever. Thank You Father.
It is a crash course in loving as You would have me love that I am asking this day. This week. This month. This year. Yes Father. Loving as You would have me love. Filled with excitement. Putting the needs of others ahead of my own.
Reading of Servanthood, OT in Illustrated Bible Handbook I am reminded that “God calls and shapes His servants. In response, the servant is to commit totally to obedience. Gifted by God’s Spirit he adopts a gentle and quiet spirit and so works toward the birth of justice. He meets resistance but is not discouraged. He does not fail, but succeeds in carrying out the purposes for which he is called (Isa. 42:1-4). Throughout his life he meets obstacles with quiet reliance on the Lord who leads him (Isa. 42:6).”
Yes please! Sign me up for that kind of trust and obedience.
While being a servant may not initially seem the same as being Your daughter, the more I read I am again reminded it is what Jesus chose for Himself. Father, thank You.
Continue Your work in transforming me into Your willing servant. One filled with excitement at the prospect of sharing all it is to live each moment in, with, by, through and for You. Thank You Father. Use me. I love You. Amen.
