Holy God,
Today marks 13 years that You did a mighty work! A daughter, deeply concerned about the health and well being of her dad, enlisted his sister’s help.
Blessed Father, it was all You guiding and directing our every step that day. Originally resistant, reluctant and refusing, how I thank You for changing my heart and my mind.
It was You dear Lord working in, with, by, through and for every single circumstance all those years ago. Various memories differ. Recognizing and acknowledging Your guiding hand in it does not.
Dearest God, it was all You. Start to finish. Providing assertion and humor as needed. Thank You Jesus for all You are able to achieve. Especially when faced with our own opposition.
Too often we can be so set in our own understanding of things. Sure that what we think or want is correct.
Thank You that we are called to trust in YOU, with all our heart; not depending on our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledging You and You will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
That is exactly what happened that fateful [pivotal, important] day Dear Lord. I trusted You. Not me. I turned to You. Trusting. Believing. And Your Holy Spirit empowered me to assert myself for the good of my brother.
TEARS! While choosing the words ‘my brother’ over ‘another.’ Father, thank You that our relationship truly is based on You. Your wisdom. Your guidance. Your love that transfers from one to the other.
Yes. Your love. As well as the faith and hope that are lasting. Eternal. Abiding. Remaining. Enduring. Continuing forever. All spelled out for us in the Truth of 1 Corinthians 13:13.
And here’s/hear this comment from The Life Recovery Bible. “13:11-13 Recovery and growth are never complete in this life; we are always in recovery - always growing. We are still like children, needing to mature. Only when we see God face to face will we be complete and whole. Paul shares this truth not to discourage us, but to give us hope that someday we will be made perfect. We will persevere in the process of recovery if we have faith in God and those around us. We need hope to endure and be healed from our painful problems and addiction. Most of all we need genuine love to conquer the barriers and bondage of our past. Faith, hope, and love are all necessary to successful recovery. Genuine love, however, is the greatest healer of all.”
Genuine love. That’s what it was/is, Dear Lord! The genuine love You brought about through the Truth of Your Word all those years before (Philippians 1:9 The Message). Thank You. Praise You.
Use me again this day Dearest God. Sharing Your genuine love with others. I love, need, trust and want You. Happy 13th! Hallelujah! Amen.
