Holy God,
Thank You. You provided the necessary phrase to identifying the music I woke up with. Not going in the direction I thought it would, I found lyrics to a completely different song having the same title. Thank You Father.
Thank You for the way music often leads me into Your Word. ♪Heard It From a Friend♪ by JJ Heller immediately had me considering You as the Friend of whom the song sings. The Truthteller ♪Holding up a mirror Hoping [I] might see [My]self a little clearer Beyond a shadow of a doubt♪ You seeing Your Truth in me.
Right here I have my developmentally delayed much loved nephew’s voice in my head. Calling out one of his most frequently asked questions. “Dad! My Friend?”
Mm, yes Dearest Father! Thank You for being both our Dad and our Friend.
Thank You that because I paid attention to the initial music welcoming me in to the day, I’m now reading about the importance of Truth. Your Truth Dearest God. Presented to us by Solomon. Proverbs 12.
We get to read of the importance of discipline (v. 1). Goodness (2). Having our roots deeply imbedded in You (3). And Your Truth.
Father, I want to be an encouragement. Continue Your work in teaching me to be kind. Patient. Loving. Peaceful. Good. Faithful. Gentle. Joyful. And Spirit strengthened (Galatians 5:22-23a).
Thank You for the work You’ve done throughout all these many years. Teaching me the importance of the sheer innocence of children [“Dad! My Friend?"] And Your Truth sung out in various songs.
Right now? The exact counterpart of hearing Your Truth from a Friend. ♪Fear he is a liar He will take your breath Stop you in your steps… rob your rest Steal your happiness♪
Keep reminding me Dad. YOU are our Friend! Use me this day. Exactly as You know is best. I love, need and want You. Thank You. Praise You. Amen.
