Your love, Lord

 Tuesday, February 1, 2022 ( 6:59 a.m.)

Holy, Holy God,

Thank You for Your love. Your love, Lord. Teach me more about living this day in Your love.

Directed to Ephesians 5:1-2, I am reading and contemplating on Your Truth. The apostle Paul knew You well. In this letter he wanted to help strengthen believers' relationships with You. And with each other.

Mm. This I want as well. To live and love as an imitator of You in everything I do. I believe it to be much easier said than done, Lord.

The Passion Translation footnote for verse 1 tells us, “The Greek word mimetes frequently depicts an actor playing a role. God wants us to mimic Him and be filled with His thoughts, His love, His deeds, and His character.” Such a tall order, Lord.

So I turn to chapter six, verse ten. Asking that I “be strong with the Lord’s mighty power.” Fully trusting You to be “able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope” (3:20b).

Our hope IS in You Dear Lord! We have loved ones facing catastrophic illness and disease. There have been some mistakes made. We again seek Your loving forgiveness. Continue Your work in us Lord.

Using us to love as You would have us. With all of our hearts, souls, minds and strength. You. Others. And ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). Imitating You all the way.

Thank You for Your love Dearest Father. Guide, direct, embolden and empower us in using it well this day.

We love You. We need You. We want You. And we thank You. Use us. Praise You. Amen.
